Additional feature
Please note that the OTYS Site builder is an additional feature, and is not included in your existing OTYS licence. For more information, please reach out to your dedicated Customer Success Manager, or our Support team.
The OTYS site builder is an easy to use, visually customizable website to host your vacancies and to receive applications on. Once the site builder is enabled for you, you have control over changing the look, the feel, and the content of your site. This site builder has been created by us, and uses no external parties for implementation.
For each brand you have in OTYS Go! you will have a website in the OTYS site builder. These different sites are also available in all the languages that you’re already using within OTYS Go!. This article describes all the different options that the site offers in each specific section, as well as information on how to activate this feature.
The site builder is incredibly user friendly, with onboarding, a guided tour, and information at every stage, allowing you to quickly get to grips with creating your own website. To give you an indication of what your new site could look like, we’ve set up the following demo site for you to check out: https://www.vacatureshulp.nl/
Dependencies & activation
To use the OTYS site builder, please create a ticket in our support module with your request. To set up the site builder we need to make sure that certain parts of your OTYS system have been set up correctly. Please give us a moment to check this and get back to you. If anything is amiss, we will let you know.
Once we’ve established you have the required set up, we will activate the site builder for you, and let you know when it is available to you. Good to know: we have the option to exclude certain users of your system from accessing the site builder. If you prefer this, please let us know in your set up request.
Usage
Once you’ve gotten the message that you can use our site builder, you can get started!
OTYS tip!
It’ll be helpful to have a few things ready before you start the site builder up for the first time, such logos, brand colours, and possibly an existing domain that’s owned by your company. These things can also be added later, but having them on hand when you start out will help you shape your site.
To access the site builder, you can click the ‘CMS’ button in the left hand menu of OTYS Go. This button will only appear after we’ve activated the site builder for you, and has a ‘laptop’ style icon. From here, the website will open.
When first opening the site builder, you’ll be prompted to go through our onboarding process. Please make sure to read this information, and fill out the required information. After, you can take the tour. This tour will guide you through the entire environment, and teach you how to use our site builder. It is, however, understandable that this is a lot of information. Every individual section of the site builder will have a little information icon that you can hover over to get more information on what this field or setting does.
To make sure you’re supported all throughout, we’ve created separate articles for each part of the process. You can find these articles linked underneath this one on the left hand side of your screen, or you can use the links in the text below, where we explain broadly what everything does. As always, if you’re stuck, please let us know, and we will help you where we can.
Pages and sections
Your site will be made up of pages. Those pages each have sections, and those sections consist of 1 or more columns. Each column can contain one or more widget to help you shape your site.
Site → Pages → Sections → Column(s) → Widget(s)
General information on pages and sections can be found here, in your ‘Creating content’ article. If you’d just like information on our widgets and their possibilities, you can find this here.
Next to creating and shaping the visual look of your site, you can also adjust the page settings. You can read more about this here.
The combination of these articles should provide you with the knowledge you need to build your own site.
Possible website settings
Next to the look and feel of your website, you of course will also need to configure the settings of your website. This can be a bit more complex, so make sure to take your time when you go through this, especially for the first time. Read all about it here.
Troubleshooting
If you have any questions that can not be solved using the helpdesk, the site builder tour, or the individual information icons, please reach out to us by opening a support ticket.
