Introduction
One of the major parts of your new site are your website settings. Here you can set up your languages, your branding, SEO, tracking, etc. You really only have to do this once or twice, setting everything up in a way that works for you. You won’t be changing things here as often as you would be in your pages. It is however a crucial part, and can be quite complex to set up. We’ve tried our best to explain each setting in this article, but if you require more assistance, please let us know.
Configuration
To access your website settings, you’ll have to go to the ‘configuration’ tab at the very top of your CMS. You can open your CMS by clicking the CMS icon at the bottom of your left hand panel in OTYS Go. It should look like a laptop icon. If you do not have this icon, but you do have our Site Builder, you might not have the rights to do this. Please contact your key users to help you out.
From here, we have several different subtabs, al with their own content and information. As always, there are small [i] icons to help you along, and you can always take the tour again. Below, we’ll go through each of the tabs and their content to hopefully help you along.
General
Published languages
Published languages shows you in which languages your site is currently opperational. You can read more on this here. Here, you can pick which of the languages you use in OTYS Go are actually used on your website. For example, if you have a German colleague and have OTYS Go set to German, but you don’t have any German applicants you can remove the language here.
Enabled languages are available in the set up of your website, and you will need to fill those with content in said language.
Vacancy Overview
When you’ve set up a page that contains your vacancy overview, you need to link it here so that we can always redirect the user to the correct page.
Mark as live website
This tells us that your website is now ‘‘live’’ and ready to go. By turning this toggle on we will make sure everything is set up correctly on the OTYS Go side. Please make sure you only toggle this when you’re ready to go. If you want to preview your website you can do so from the site builder itself, you don’t need to turn this on and off again.
Branding
Brandname
Your brandname will show up in URL’s and in the Meta fields of your website. This can be your company name, or a specific name that denotes your company’s website.
Font
To give you freedom in creating your site we offer a selection of pre-loaded fonts. Please note, you can not use any fonts that are not in this list as they are not supported.
Color 1
Your main brand color, often a contrasting and vibrant colour that supports your brand identity.
Color 2
A complementary color to your brand color. this one is often almost white.
Color 3
A darker complementary colour, often almost black.
Logo
Your company or brand logo. The easiest option here is to upload a .svg file, as those do not work with pixels but with vectors. This means that your logo will always be a sharp image regardless of size. Please make sure this file has a transparent background. If you do not have a .svg image of your logo, a .png (preferably with a transparant background) is your next best option. This image might however end up pixelated.
Favicon
A small image/icon that is used in front of the name of your site in the browser tab. This makes it easy for potential applicants and other internet users to see on which tab your site is open.
URLs
Brand prefix
The brand prefix is the ‘fallback identifier’ of your brand. This way we can always show a website, even if you don’t have a custom domain yet
Custom domain
A custom domain is preferred for the URL of your new site. This makes it easy for applicants to find you, and makes your site look more trustworthy. If you do not own a domain you can look into purchasing one.
Please note: your custom domain will only work if it is pointing to our servers. This can be complex to set up, but we have provided a guide for this within the site builder itself. You can find this guide in the configuration of this field.
Redirect to www
By turning this on we will redirect any requests to your website that do not have ‘www’ in front of it to this site. This is handy for SEO purposes, and prevents double content.
SEO
Index (robots)
By turning this on you allow your websites to be indexed by search engines, such as Google. This will make it easier for your applicants to find you. By keeping this turned off, you will not be indexed.
OG image
The OG image is the fallback image for when a page does not have its own OG image. An OG image is used when sharing a page, and makes your links look more visually interesting.
Tracking
Note: It can be dangerous to blindly include third party code on your website, if you are not sure if code is valid and/or safe to use; do not include it.
Header script
You can add a piece of <script> to your page for tracking, cookie banners, etc.. Be careful when adding scripts to your page and only do so when you are sure what you are doing
Body start script
You can add a piece of <script> to your page for tracking, cookie banners etc.. Be Careful when adding scripts to your page and only do so when you are sure what you are doing
Body end script
You can add a piece of <script> to your page for tracking, cookie banners etc.. Be Careful when adding scripts to your page and only do so when you are sure what you are doing
Recruitment
Criteria on vacancy detail
This list shows you your available match criteria. By toggling these criteria on, the match criteria will appear as a label on your vacancy detail page. For example, if you don’t think that the match criteria ‘location’ is important because you mostly post remote jobs, you can choose to turn this off.
Show consultant
This toggle determines if the vacancy shows the OTYS user/consultant connected to a vacancy on the vacancy detail page. If you toggle this on you can also determine which of the consultant their details you want to show or omit, such as picture, phone number, email, etc.
Show sticky apply bar
Turning this on will make the apply button/bar ‘sticky’ in the vacancy detail pages. This means that even when a potential candidate scrolls away from the apply button/bar, it will still be shown in the screen so they don’t have to scroll back up or down to apply.
Message after successful application
A customizable message to show to a candidate when they’ve applied to assure them their application was successful and to thank them for their time (for example).
Script after successful application
A <script> you can add to the page when the candidate has applied successfully.
Note: It can be dangerous to blindly include third party code on your website, if you are not sure if code is valid and/or safe to use; do not include it.
Footer
Here you can edit your footer(s) to show useful links, social media redirects, copyright text, KVK numbers, etc. You can edit the footer by clicking on the one you wish to edit. This should show you what you currently have, and you will be able to change things here.
