Technical installation (DNS/DKIM)

In order to be able to send emails from OTYS with your e-mail domain, a number of things must be set up. Please forward this email to the IT administrator of your organization if you cannot make the changes below yourself.

SPF: Specifies the servers and domains authorized to send emails on behalf of your organization.
DKIM: Adds a digital signature to every outgoing message, allowing receiving servers to verify that the message really came from your organization.

DNS records must be created for both. You manage your DNS with the party that manages the domain name.

For the SPF record:
A change must be made in the DNS settings so that you give the OTYS mail server permission to send emails with your domain name. The SPF record must be set so that our mail server has authorization to send emails with your domain. If there is no record yet, create a TXT record "v=spf1 include:spf.otys.nl -all".
If there is already an existing record, add to the existing record: include:spf.otys.nl

For the DKIM record:
In order to activate DKIM, you will receive a DKIM key from your consultant. We would like to ask you if you want to add the DNS record to your domain  y creating a text record.

If you run into any issues, or if DKIM does not work properly, try changing "v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=" to:"v=DKIM1\; k=rsa\;p=".

Please let us know when the above changes have been implemented, so we can then activate the DKIM functionality for you as a final step
